1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Senior Places. By accessing or using our website at seniorplaces.org (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service, including families searching for senior living communities, community operators managing listings, and administrators.

2. Description of Service

Senior Places is a senior living directory that connects families directly with senior care communities. Our Service includes:

  • A searchable directory of senior living communities including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Residential Care
  • A lifestyle quiz and AI-powered matching system to help families find communities that fit their needs
  • The ability to submit inquiries and tour requests directly to communities
  • Community profiles with photos, amenities, pricing, and availability information
  • Account features for saving favorites and tracking inquiry status

3. User Accounts

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep your account credentials secure.

Our platform supports the following account roles:

  • User (Families): Individuals searching for senior living options for themselves or a loved one
  • Community: Staff members representing senior living communities who manage listings and respond to inquiries
  • Admin: Platform administrators who maintain and moderate the Service

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Community Listings

Communities may be listed on the Service through data collection or by direct submission. Authorized representatives of a community may claim their listing using a unique claim code provided by Senior Places. Once claimed, community representatives can edit their profile, respond to inquiries, and manage staff access.

Community subscription tiers include:

  • Free: Basic profile with up to 10 photos
  • Premium: Unlimited media, priority placement, and analytics
  • Premium Plus: All Premium features plus AI chat widget and lead scoring

Communities are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listing information, including pricing, availability, services, and amenities. Senior Places does not verify or guarantee the accuracy of community-provided information.

5. Quiz and Matching Services

Our lifestyle quiz and matching system uses algorithmic recommendations based on the preferences you provide and the services/amenities listed by communities. Match scores are generated to help you discover relevant options.

Match results are informational recommendations only and do not constitute endorsements, medical advice, or guarantees of quality. We strongly encourage you to visit communities in person, verify information directly with community staff, and consult with healthcare professionals before making any senior living decisions.

6. Inquiries, Tours, and Communications

When you submit an inquiry or tour request through the Service, your contact information and message will be shared directly with the community you are contacting. Senior Places facilitates this connection but is not a party to any agreement or arrangement you may enter into with a community.

Communities are expected to respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Senior Places is not responsible for the conduct, responsiveness, or services provided by any community.

7. SMS/Text Messaging Terms

By providing your mobile phone number and opting in, you consent to receive SMS/text messages from Senior Places related to your account, inquiries, tour confirmations, and service updates.

  • You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message.
  • For help, reply HELP to any message or contact us at info@seniorplaces.org or (844) 461-2412.
  • Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
  • Message frequency varies based on your account activity and preferences.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • We will not use your opt-in to SMS as consent to send marketing messages unrelated to the Service without additional consent.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding content provided by users and communities), features, and functionality are owned by Senior Places and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

By submitting content to the Service (such as photos, descriptions, or reviews), you grant Senior Places a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Service.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Provide false, misleading, or inaccurate information on community listings or user profiles
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely claim affiliation with a community
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or computer systems
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Service without authorization
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Send spam, unsolicited messages, or promotional content through the Service
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm other users or communities

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. SENIOR PLACES DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

Senior Places is a directory and matching platform. We do not operate, inspect, or license any senior living community listed on the Service. We make no representations or warranties about the quality, safety, or suitability of any community.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SENIOR PLACES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY DECISIONS MADE BASED ON MATCH RESULTS OR COMMUNITY INFORMATION.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Senior Places, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights of a third party.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Orange County, California.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
