Secured perimeter

Also called: Delayed egress, Secured unit

A secured perimeter is a memory care design in which exits are locked or alarmed so residents with dementia can move freely inside without wandering out.

In California an RCFE must have state approval before using secured perimeters or delayed-egress doors, and must meet staffing and fire-safety conditions to keep it. Ask to see the approval.
