Long-Term Care Ombudsman
Also called: Ombudsman
The Long-Term Care Ombudsman is an independent, state-run program that investigates complaints and advocates for residents of nursing homes and assisted living communities, free of charge.
Every licensed community must post the ombudsman’s contact information. Families can call the ombudsman about care, rights or billing concerns without going through the community.

RCFE
RCFE stands for Residential Care Facility for the Elderly, the California license category that covers assisted living, memory care and board and care homes for residents aged 60 and over.
